Veronica Kelleher: Nursing major and Help Desk Assistant.

Veronica Kelleher
Student Worker of the Month for November 2014
Veronica has been working in the Office of Information Technology since Fall 2013, first as a Lab Consultant and now as a Help Desk Assistant. She is a Nursing major and expects to graduate in 2017. She says that understanding how technology works will be an important asset for her in the medical field, and the customer service skills she’s honed at Adelphi IT can help with dealing with patients and coworkers. In her free time, Veronica loves to play sports, especially soccer.

Having known and worked with Veronica for a little over one year she has exemplary initiative, leadership characteristics and most of all dependability. Veronica is a hard-working self-starter who invariably understands exactly what a project(s) was all about from the outset, and how to get it done swiftly and efficiently. She is well respected, as both a person and a professional, by her peers, staff and faculty she services on campus. She is currently working as a Help Desk Assistant answering phones and training other student workers Veronica has fabulous customer service skills and can calm even the most demanding of customers while quickly determining the issue and solving the problems. As a sophomore Nursing student she is working a heavy course load while working and still finds time to participate in other campus groups and activities.”
“I am nominating Veronica Kelleher for IT Student Employee of the Month. Ms. Kelleher joined the IT Help Desk student worker team in October of 2013 in her freshman year as a Nursing major. She is currently a Help Desk Assistant having been promoted during the Spring 14 semester from Lab consultant. Her calm and friendly demeanor is unwavering even in the midst of the toughest of customers. In addition to her excellent Customer Service abilities she possesses high quality technical skills and is always looking for something new and shares her knowledge and enthusiasm with all of the other student workers. Veronica is also one of only two students cross trained to answer phones at the IT Help Desk and at Telephone services.”
About IT’s Employee of the Month Nominations
It is important to demonstrate our appreciation for the contributions of our student workers to their teams, to the Office of Information Technology, and to Adelphi University as a whole. At the end of each month, we will honor one student worker who has demonstrated commitment, leadership, and initiative in their position. The recipient will be presented with a certificate and gift, as well as a featured spot on our IT website.
All IT employees (including student workers) are encouraged to submit nominations for their choice for Student Worker of the Month. Your nominee should display qualities deserving of recognition.
