Adelphi graduates were featured regarding their plans after commencement.

Several Adelphi graduates who are former student workers of the IT department were featured in Newsday on May 19 regarding that day’s commencement ceremony and their future plans.


H-Arora

Heena Arora, Political Science

Heena, the outgoing Class of 2014 President, was a featured speaker at Commencement. While studying at Adelphi, Heena also worked as Help Desk Lab Consultant for the Office of IT. She will be will starting law school in fall 2014.

Frances Fan, Biology

Frances worked as an IT Project Assistant for the Office of the CIO, in addition to performing research spanning the fields of genetics, microbiology, and drug discovery. She was a recipient of the Horace McDonell Fellowship in support of this work.

“I was really fortunate to get an exciting fellowship at the National Institutes of Health studying the aging process. I think it would be fascinating to figure it out and see whether we might be able to slow down or reverse the aging process.”

Frank_Turano

Frank Turano, Communications

Frank will be starting a job working on CNN’s websites shortly after Commencement. For the past year, he’s worked for the FCPE, the Department of Communications Media Lab and for the Office of IT. One of the highlights of his work was the responsive design project in the Web Communications group of Adelphi IT.

“I look forward to seeing my career evolve…I feel like what I’ll be doing now is so very different to what I’ll be doing 10 years from now.”
